If there’s one thing we’ve learned about social media during this time, it’s that it can be really toxic and detrimental to community. Not only can it be addictive and extremely distracting, but it’s also full of mudslinging, echo chambers, and it it seems pretty much impossible to have conversations between people who have different ideas. As a family, we have contemplated getting off of social media several times – and we did indeed get off of social media for several years, as a matter of fact.
In this podcast, we talk about how social media used to be, and we discuss our ideas for how (and whether or not) social media can benefit the community and conversation.
